Yesterday the High School Track and Field team competed in the Charter School Championships held at Mount Clemens High School. The girls’ team finished in second place and lots of hardware. The top three placements received medals and the top eight score points for the team. Margaret Iwu finished first in disc and fourth in shot put. Erica Taylor won high jump. Krystian Talley threw a PR in shot put as well. Sydni Ausberry finished second in the 100m. Phalyn Doucet came in second in the 400m and finished second in the 800m, while Christine Iwu won the 800m. Haille Grajek finished first in the 1600m and the 3200m, Alana Harrison finished fourth in the 1600m and third in the 3200m. The 4×200 relay team of Phalyn Doucet, Sydni Ausberry, Christine Iwu and Erica Taylor came in first place and ran a personal record time of 1:52. The 4×400 relay team of Christine Iwu, Erica Taylor, Phalyn Doucet, and Amber Flynn finished second. The 4×800 relay team of Haille Grajek, Alana Harrison, Da’Veeda Fifth-Turner, and Christine Iwu finished second as well. Da’Veeda also jumped a PR in long jump with 12’5”.
