Today the High School Track and Field team competed in the Wayne County Championships at Divine Child. The girls’ team finished in first place and received an awesome trophy! Many of our girls left with a medal as well! Top 6 placements received medals in individual events and top 3 relay teams. Da’Veeda Fifth-Turner finished second in long jump with a PR jump of 13’8”, McKayla Foster-Redmond jumped a PR of 12’1”, Margaret Iwu came in 4th in discus, and Torrie Curtis threw a PR in shot with 21’1.5”. The 4×800 relay team of Haille Grajek, Lauren Pistotti, Christine Iwu, and Da’Veeda finished in second. The 4×400 relay team of Haille, Christine, Trinity Davis, and Phalyn Doucet finished in third. Trinity Davis finished third in 300m hurdles, Sydni Ausberry got third in the 100m dash and 4th in the 200m dash, Christine Iwu won the 800m with a personal record and Da’Veeda finished 6th with a PR as well, and Phalyn finished third in the 400m. In the 1600m Haille finished third, Lauren Pistotti finished 5th and Alana Harrison ran a season record. In the 3200m Haille finished second with a PR, Lauren came in third running a PR and breaking 14 minutes for the first time, and Alana came in 6th.
