The Summit Academy Girls Varsity Soccer team earned a well deserved first round MHSAA State Tournament District win tonight against Dearborn Advanced Technical Academy with a 9-1 victory.

Eight different Dragon players scored. Senior Madison Altmann opened the evening’s scoring with the games first goal just 3 minutes into the game on an assist from Freshman Hailey Rose. Freshman Enya Rojas struck next, followed quickly by Rose and LeLani Lane, scoring goals number 2, 3 and 4 all within 35 seconds at the 17 minute mark.

After the Lakers scored on a penalty, the score remained 4-1 until the 26 minute mark when Freshman Brooklyn Wagner added her tally, followed by Senior Natalie Mkrtumian with an assist from Lane. Senior Jessah Price added the 7th Dragon goal of the evening, Junior Guadalupe Cerda score the 8th, Rojas rounded out the scoring by added her second of the night, bringing the score to the 9-1 final at the half.

Freshman Alana Harrison and Senior Jenna Cunnien spilt goal tending duties earning the Dragons to a trip to the semifinals against Grosse Ile on Wednesday (5/29).
