Yesterday the High School Track and Field team competed in the Charter School Championships held at Mount Clemens High School. The top three placements received medals and the top eight score points for the team. The boys’ team finished in second place as well, their best finish at the CSC Championships in the six-year program. In shot put, Tyree Ready got third and Zach Faybik in fourth. In discus, Zach finished second with a PR throw of 115’5” and Tyree came in second with a PR throw of 103’8”. The 4×800 relay team of D’Anthony Shaw, Jamal Jackson, Eric Thompson, and Rodrigo Garcia finished in first place with a commanding lead. Rodrigo Garcia finished first in the 400m and Eric Thompson finished first in the 800m with a personal record of 2:11 and an exciting finish. Jordan Patrick made the finals in the 200m with a PR of 24.57. Antoine Green finished third in the 110m hurdles and second in the 300m hurdles. One of the best races of the day was the 1600m where Jamal Jackson finished first with a PR of 4:51, D’Anthony Shaw finished second with a PR of 4:54 and then Ryan Greene finished fourth with a PR of 5:21. In the 3200m Jamal Jackson won again, followed by D’Anthony Shaw and then Chris Holman finished in fourth with a season record time. The 4×400 relay team of Antoine Green, Rodrigo Garcia, Jamal Jackson, and Eric Thompson once again finished in first to end the meet with another exciting race! Other PRs include Lowell Perkins in the 100m with 12.85 and Aidan Johnson in the 200m with 25.92. The boys left with a ton of medals!
