Today the High School Track and Field team competed at Wyandotte High School for the Metro Classic. The 4×800 relay team of Eric Thompson, D’Anthony Shaw, Jamal Jackson, and Rodrigo Garcia ran a personal record of 8:33, beating their previous time by 14 seconds, finishing in third place, earning a medal, and shocking tons of teams! Rodrigo Garcia finished fourth in the 400m with a medal and a PR of 53.02. D’Anthony Shaw finished 8th in the 1600m with a medal and personal record time of 4:49. Jamal Jackson got a medal in the 3200m with a personal record time of 10:20 earning 4th place. Several boys received personal records as well. Zach Faybik threw a PR in discus with 38’ 1”. Lowell Perkins ran a PR in the 100m with 12.77, the 4×200 relay team of J’yon Major, Isaiah Roots, Deon Mayes, and Jamil House ran a personal record time of 1:45, Chris Holman broke 12 minutes in the 3200m with a time of 11:56, and Jordan Patrick made it to the finals in the 110m hurdles in his first race ever!
