Game Recap

The Summit Academy Dragons faced off against the Romulus Eagles and came away with a thrilling 10-9 victory in seven innings. The Dragons trailed by as many as four runs in the second inning but fought back multiple times in the game to win. Their only lead of the game was when the team won in the seventh inning. With sophomore Nick West on second base, junior Adam Carlisle hit a ground ball past the diving first baseman for a hit that turned into a triple. Following Carlisle was junior Jake Penanen who fell down 0-2 in the count early. Penanen fought back to make the count 3-2 before hitting a ground ball to the Eagles shortstop who tried valiantly to throw Carlisle out at home but to no avail as the Dragons successfully completed the comeback. For the Dragons, the win is their first of the season and they will face off on the road against Belleville at 4:30pm on Wednesday April 1.

Game Recap

We fought to the very end, playing without senior Cory Hicks our All-time leading scorer we missed the points he would’ve provided. Fellow senior, Randall Micheaux scored a career high 27 points in our season ending loss to Flat Rock Rams. We lost this game at the free throw line shooting 6-24 and including 4 in the final minute in regulation. This season was filled with highs and lows and our younger players gained a lot of experience and I look forward to a good off-season training session and summer camps & leagues. i want to thank everyone that supported our program this season and my hope is that you continue to support us as we stay on path of building a quality basketball program.

Meet Recap

This was the last regular season meet for The Dragons. It was a tough year for The Dragons having low numbers as well as mostly 1st year wrestlers on the team. Most nights do to voids at weight classes it was impossible for the team to win before the meet even started. However as a Coach I’m very Proud of each and everyone of these kids and their ability to constantly show up, and battle through all of the adversity that was thrown in their path through out the season. They would always give it their best, and you could you could see improvement in each and everyone of them throughout the season. With all but 2 of our High School wrestlers returning as well a great group of 8th graders moving up to the High School next year, the future of Summit wrestling looks to be on the rise. To all of my Wrestlers I just want to say Thank You for giving me your Best…
