Today the High School Cross Country team ran in the Downriver Gabriel Richard Invite. In the boys’ Varsity race, Scott Lange tied his season best time with 19:59. Sena Fisher and Kenneth Green ran their best races this season. Sena ran 22:38 and Kenneth ran 22:43. Phillip Migliaccio got his “official” personal record time of 23:05. In the JV race, Brent Walker ran a season record time of 23:41 and Robert Smith ran his “official” personal record with a time of 24:03.

Meet Recap

The Dragons ran in the Downriver Gabriel Richard Invite on Thursday, both boys and girls placed 9th. We had some incredible PR’s set by Ellyce Farkas, Mary Loon and DaMaria Harvey. They all shaved their time by 1-2 full minutes!! For the boys, more 1-2 minute PR’s were set by Antonio Johnson (who broke that 14 minute mark!), Zechariah Martin and Joshua Brock! Way to go, Dragons!!

Game Recap

The Summit Varsity Volleyball team defeated last year leagues champs for the second time this season. The game started as Henry Ford handed Summit a set 1 loss of 25-11, then the Dragons dug deep to win the next set. The fourth set was a battle, but Summit fell short. The Dragons won the toss and chose to serve receive, and cruised to a 15-9 victory! Julienne Develos, Sahavannah Greer, Kristen Raczak, and Madeline Wagner led the team in serving. Erica and Erinn Taylor, Sahavannah and Kristen all contributed kills and blocks through the 5 sets. Our next game is today at 4:30, 5:30 and 6:30. At 5:30 we play undefeated Chandler Park as we move one step closer to a championship.

Game Recap

Rodrigo Garcia scored the only Dragon’s goal of the evening with Jorge Andrade adding the lone assist as the Boys Varsity Soccer team fell to Taylor Prep Academy in their last regular season game.

Rodrigo Garcia and Joel Cunnien were solid on Defense and Alex Alcola’s effort off the bench as a forward was quality.

This brought the Dragons regular season record to 3-10 as they prepare for the MHSAA Tournament. The district first round opponents will be a rematch with with Taylor Prep, this time at home (Summit Academy North Elementary) on Monday 10/16 at 4:30 with the winner advancing to the semifinal round on Wednesday.

Jorge Andrade, Nick Clark, Josiah Edwards, Rodrigo Garcia, Joel Cunnien, and Jose Duran each had a goal and Parker Mathena had 2 assist as the Dragons beat Romulus HS 6-2 this evening.

Jared Coates and Daniel Serrato were standouts at Midfield and Tremael Arrington and Manuel Sahagun were solid in defensive rolls. Julian Sahagun earned the teams 3rd win on the season in net and Jonathan Brown and Alex Alcola added a spark off the bench.

The Dragons go for our 3rd win of the week against Taylor Prep tomorrow (10/12) at 5:00 pm at their place.
